Sri Lanka Ready To Host Asia Cup 2014 Due To Bangladesh Unrest

Sri Lanka has offered to host the Asia Cup 2014 Tournament as Bangladesh is going through political unrest these days due to which organizing the Tournament there can be risky for team security specially for Pakistani team who are defending champions of Asia Cup. Sri Lankan Cricket board official Nishantha Ranatunga made statement about Sri Lanka's interest to host the event in case of If it is moved from Bangladesh.

Asian Cricket Council will soon do a meeting on this issue In which it will be decided should the Asia cup take place in Bangladesh or it should be shifted to another country most likely Sri Lanka. the event is scheduled to start from 24th February 2014 In which four Asian teams Pakistan, India, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh takes part. This cup takes place after every two year.

After Asia Cup T20 World Cup is also scheduled to take place In Bangladesh from month of March in which Cricket teams from all Cricket playing nations will take part.

Pakistan are the defending champions of Asia Cup as they defeated Bangladesh in Final of 2012 Asia Cup. Pakistan also won the event in Bangladesh in year 2000.
