Its Time For Misbah Haters To Rethink

On Sunday 21st July Pakistan won the 4th ODI match against West Indies due to wonderful batting of Pakistani skipper Misbah Ul Haq who made 53 runs on 43 balls. Today Misbah also became the highest run scorer in ODI for 2013 by making 800 plus runs.

39 years old Misbah is very consistent with his bat and we hardly see him getting out early without scoring runs. Misbah's average in tests is 43.19 in ODIs 44.18 and T20  is 37.52. These averages are really good and prove that Misbah is a good Batsman.

Unfortunately Misbah Ul haq is a player who has lot of haters in his own country and he is often criticized for his slow batting. But i think now its time for Misbah hatters to rethink and support him instead of criticizing him all the time. He is making runs with consistency at a time when other Pakistani batsmen are failing again and again.

There were days when Pakistan was having some great Batsman in the middle order like Inzamam Ul Haq, Muhammad Yousaf, Younis Khan and Abdul Razzaq who were famous for their consistent performances in the crucial matches at the crucial moments. right now Pakistan has only one such player who has got the consistency in his batting and who stays on wicket even in the difficult times and he is Misbah Ul Haq.

So its time for supporting Misbah instead of making his fun all the time. He will probably be captain of Pakistan even in the next World Cup in 2015. So stop calling him Tuk Tuk and start calling him Mr Consistent to give him confidence.

Misbah Ul Haq's Average in different formats:

2419 runs in 39 test matches at average of 43.19.

3819 runs in 125 ODIs at average of 44.40.

Misbah's top score in test is 161 not out and in ODI its 96. Unfortunately he is not able to make a century in ODI yet.
